Hi ,
It's the holiday season and while many of us are enjoying being with our loved ones, so many are grieving for loved ones lost. My husband, Mike, recently wrote an anointed prayer of bereavement to comfort the hurting. I thought I'd share it with you in case you are facing that situation or know someone who is.
I've also attached a PDF copy of the prayer in case you want to print and share it with others. The prayer is below:
*********
Heavenly Father in the mighty name of Jesus,
How we worship you for all the great things you have done for us.
You have predestined each of us unto greatness and given us freewill to carry out our destiny in this earth which will later be expounded upon for all eternity.
There comes a time for us to depart from this world and move into a new and permanent season, which can be a bittersweet moment for some of us.
The bitterness of losing the presence and comfort of our loved one can be overwhelming until we remember the joy of the ever so sweet release that you have granted our loved one from the troubles of this world.
No more trials or temptations.
No more sorrow or aggravations.
No more sickness, no more ills.
No more taking 30,000 pills.
No more aching bones or any type of pain;
But of peace, tranquility and Godly gain.
Yes, we are overjoyed with the comfort of knowing that our loved one has found your rest.
Now Father, give peace and comfort to those of us who must remain in this world to carry on the Gospel; that great and honorable news of Jesus Christ.
Help the bereaving family to grieve in a healthy manner. Give them space to cry and shed their tears of times gone by in remembrance of those great and notable moments that were shared with the loved one.
After they have grieved sufficiently, give them a new and energetic heart for you to finish this race with the hope and assuredness of seeing your face and their loved one again.
In Jesus name - Amen
Mike Taylor
