Get Yourself to Do Anything

Hi ,
Are you having trouble getting started with your weight loss goals? Four issues are usually at the root and today, I'm going to show you how to overcome them.
The issues are:
1. Desire
2. Faith
3. Plan
4. Accountability.
First is 'Desire'. Is losing weight is important enough for you to start changing your habits right now? The keyword is "enough". When you have had enough of your current situation, then you are willing to take action now to change it.
Here is a desire test. Take out a piece of paper now and write down your answers to these four questions:
- What does your ideal day look like if you were already your ideal size right now?
- Why is it important to you that you adopt habits that will help you reach your ideal weight now?
- Who else will suffer if you don't adopt habits that will help you reach your ideal weight now?
- You've reached the end of your life and looking back on it. What is the most inspiring thing you've done as a result of adopting healthy habits?
Did you answer the questions? Great! You've just clarified your desire. If not, then you may not have reached the "enough" point yet.
The second issue is Faith. You must believe that you can succeed with God's help. The foundation of faith is believing God's WORD is true.
Elevate God's word mentally so that you trust his WORD more than your past, your current situation, other people's opinions, or even your own negative thinking.
Here are some scriptures to meditate every day so you can build your faith:
Psalm 139:14
I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.
Jeremiah 33:6
Behold, I will bring it health and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth.
Behold, I will bring it health and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth.
Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
The third issue is your daily 'Plan'. You have daily habits that are supporting your overweight condition. Take a moment to pray and ask God to reveal to you what those habits are and ask him what you can do instead to support healing in your body according to His WORD. Finally, you need 'Accountability'. You need a way to keep track of your eating and exercise, otherwise it's a case of "out of sight, out of mind". I stay accountable by tracking my eating and exercise at a free website called Fitday.com.
Also, I measure my waistline every Wednesday. I call it "Waistline Wednesday". Your waist measurement is an excellent, simple way to track progress. For women, our risk of stroke increases 4-fold if our waistline is over 35 inches (for men, it's 40 inches).
So, measure your waist. I recommend a tape measure called a "Myotape" - it's cheap and helps you keep accurate measurements. You can get one on Amazon.com.
If you are female and your waistline is over 35 inches, I recommend your first goal be to get it out of the danger zone. Focus on 1 inch at a time. For example, if your waist is 38 inches right now, then just work on getting it down to 37, then set a goal to get it down to 36, then 35 and so on.
After that, you can work on getting your waistline down into the "fit zone" - setting goals to work on 1 inch at a time until you arrive at the size you want. Make sense?
Here's a bonus tip. To lose weight permanently, you need to lose the "diet" mentality. Diets by their nature are temporary so before you start a new way of eating, you need to ask yourself if you can stick with it for life. If you can't, then you need to do something else!
What made me ultimately succeed is promising myself I would never give up. I didn't care how many times I messed up. I was going to learn from my mistakes and I was going to win. And I ultimately did. It took longer than I thought it would but in hindsight, it did not matter because I knew I was never going back to the way I was.
If you take the advice above, you can have the same confidence.
Be blessed in health, healing, and wholeness,
