Resolutions? Try a New Years Resurrection!
Published: Sun, 01/17/10
Dear ,
Do you know that most New Years resolutions made on January 1 are forgotten by January 17? Many people make New Years Resolutions when they should commit to a New Years Resurrection.
You see, resolutions are just talk...there is no sacrifice involved. Talk is cheap, but action is expensive. It is going to cost you.
Committing to a resurrection means that you know that to resurrect as a new person, then something has to die. Your old habits that got you overweight are going to have to die. And the enemy will make you feel like you are going to die when you don't do them. But he is a liar - you will live and not die!
Each time you kill the old habits, and build new healthy ones, a new person is coming to life. Keep that in mind. Act on faith, not on feelings (see my article "What does your faith like?" for more on that).
Even though your new habits may feel uncomfortable at the beginning, they are sinking into your procedural memory every time you practice them. Why is this important?
Your procedural memory is responsible for you not having to relearn to brush your teeth every morning, comb your hair, or drive to work. You just do it without thinking about it. So your new healthy habits must become because then your procedural memory will become your biggest ally in staying on track.
Determine that this year, you will commit to a New Year's Resurrection. And this time next year, you will be living in newness of life as God promised!
To help you with this goal, I am pleased to announce my brand new Take Back Your Temple Small Group Program.
I've had so many people ask for this because they want to start a weight loss support group in their church or community. With these resources, now you can!
So drop by my brand new website to learn more...yes, that it has been resurrected and made over as well. I'd love your comments so post them on this same article on the new site.
And don't forget to check out the Take Back Your Temple Small Group Program.
Be blessed in health, healing, and wholeness,
