A Prayer for Breakthrough (and a Brake)
Published: Mon, 08/31/09
Do you ever feel like shouting at God "Give me a break!" when life throws yet one more problem at you? I've got a prayer especially for you.
My fiance' Mike belongs to a prayer group at work and he wrote the prayer below for its members. It blessed me so much that I wanted to share it with you. I hope it helps you start your week off right and prepare you for the breakthrough that God will surely send your way!

Once more and again we come before you a humble people because we recognize your awesome power and loving nature.
We are asking for you to continue to bear us up and help us to glorify you in our natural body so that others may come to recognize how magnificent you are. Help us to not sin against you
and most certainly we ask that you forgive us of our sins.
We have read in Genesis 32 where Jacob wrestled with the Angel for a blessing and protection as he believed his brother was hot on his heel and wanted to kill him for the evil he did against his brother.
You knew he could not prevent you from leaving but it appeared as though you wanted to see if he really wanted you and the blessing so you touched the hollow of his thigh and knocked it out of joint since Jacob was so persistent.
In other words Father, you gave Jacob a "BREAK"! We are persistent and we are asking for a break from you Father. We know that we shall heal stronger from your break. We are asking for a break from our labor but for a moment just so that we can exhale. We are asking for a break-through our obstacles.
We ask for a "Brake" for our loved ones to help them "STOP" the downward spiral. To aid them in stopping the train wreck in which they may be heading for. Help and strengthen us to be the "Brakeman" in our family and at our jobs. We need a break Father, yes we need a brake.
You know what type of break/brake we need.
- Break-up (the evil plans the enemy have for us)
- Break-out (of our slump and funk)
- Break-down (from pride)
- Break-through (barriers)
- Break-away (from our problems)
- Break-in to praise unto you O'Lord
- Brake hard long enough to see your salvation.
And when it is all said and done we shall Break-Dance unto your goodness for you are Good all the time and all the time you are good!
We do trust and love you Father!
~Amen~
