The Key to Getting What You Hope For

Published: Tue, 10/21/08

Hi ,

Have you ever had times in which your faith has been tested? You are believing God for something, but your circumstances don't seem to be going in that direction? I know the feeling!

In fact, I am believing God for a particular blessing right now and I have to admit it...sometimes I feel like stomping my feet like a 4-year old and telling God "You are taking too long!" I have to laugh at myself.

Because right then I always remember the times when I've felt that way in the past, only to have God show up exactly when I needed Him. In most cases, what He gave me was even better than what I hoped for.

On yesterday, I was jumping rope and a certain scripture kept popping into my head:

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony. By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible."  - Hebrews 11:1-3

For some reason, I felt compelled to look up these words in the dictionary: faith, hoped for, substance, evidence, and testimony. Here is what I came up with:

When I looked at the meanings of the words, a clear picture emerged. The things that you are desiring with expectation cannot come about without belief, trust in, and loyalty to God. The scripture says that faith is the raw material from which the things
you hope for are made. So when you allow doubt and discouragement to take your faith, you also take away the raw materials needed for God to bring the things you are hoping for about.

So you must hold on to your faith at all costs. One way is to strengthen your faith is to get clear about what it is you are hoping for. Write it down with absolute clarity. And then anchor yourself in God through regular prayer, praise, worship, and study of His word. The more you increase your faith, the more you give Him to work with.

If one of the things you are hoping for is to reach your best weight, then let me partner with you as your personal coach. With our shared faith, we can overcome any obstacle that has been holding you back, whether it's emotional eating, stress, lack of time, or other obstacle.

I currently offer an Introductory Coaching Session at a one-time special rate so you can take coaching with me for "test drive" - no strings attached. You let me know what your 3 most pressing weight loss obstacles are and we will discuss them during our session and explore solutions.

P.S. Later this week, I've got a special guest writer for the newsletter who has a message that is  especially relevant during these stressful times. Many of you have heard about meditation, but it's usually related to Eastern religions. However, the bible tells us that we are to fill our minds by meditating on God's word. My special guest, Rhonda Jones, will share with you some of the benefits of Christian meditation and how it can make a positive impact on your life. That's coming up Thursday so stay tuned.

Please forward this email on to all others for whom this information will be a blessing.
