Regarding my previous 'fish oil' recommendation...a reader wrote me back to ask me if it is okay for someone with seafood allergies to take fish oil. You should not take fish oil supplements if you have seafood allergies. Instead you can get similar benefits with flax seed oil, which is another oil rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, which is where fish oil gets its benefits.

Also, if you are taking a blood thinner medication, like Coumadin, you also should not take fish oil. As with all supplements, you should consult your health care provider before taking them, especially if you are currently on medication.
