Nutritional Supplements I Recommend
Published: Thu, 09/04/08
Hi ,
My mom is a fish oil fan.
Several months ago, I watched a PBS special about how to age gracefully. In addition to recommending whole food multivitamins, they encouraged taking fish oil daily. I was already taking a multivitamin every day because I think it's a smart thing to do as a nutritional insurance policy.
So I started doing research on fish oil and the benefits of it astounded me. I was so excited by what I discovered that I added that supplement to my daily multivitamin. And, I recommended fish oil supplements to my mother as well.
You can read more about the benefits here:

You see, my mom retired last year and I was concerned about her health. She's been a hard worker all her life (as a single mother, there was a time when she held down three jobs to support us). Now that she was retired, I wanted to see her continue to enjoy a healthy, active life and remain mentally sharp.
Well, a week after my mother started taking the fish oil, she called me very excited. She said that her thinking was clearer, she could solve problems better, and she could even move around better. She's also dropped a few pounds!
So it's working for my mom and I can feel the benefits myself. One of my goals is to stay healthy my whole life. And fish oil is a great thing that can help with that goal, along with a nutritious diet and a regular exercise plan. I can't write about all the benefits in this email, so that's why I started to blog about it:

I'm often asked about what supplements I recommend and the only ones I feel comfortable recommending are ones I take myself. So there you have it - I take a multivitamin and I take fish oil every day.
But don't just take my word for it. In addition to checking out the blog, do your own research about what it takes to stay healthy as you get older. My goal is to become a "foxy grandmother".
I know I'm getting better with age. Health-wise, are you getting better? I certainly hope so!
Be blessed in health, wealth, and wisdom,

P.S. I also mentioned that I take a multivitamin every day. The type I take are "whole food" vitamins because they are actually made from real foods, not synthetic chemicals. You'll see a link to that on the Fish Oil Benefits blog as well.
