Take Back Your Temple / Keeping More of Your Food Shopping Cash
Published: Wed, 04/30/08
Hi ,
Ay, yi, yi! Gas and grocery prices are just crazy these days. Where I live, gas is $3.60 for unleaded. And when I go to the grocery store...well, let's just say that some of the things I used to buy are off the menu for now to keep myself within my budget.
So how can you keep more of your food shopping cash? May I suggest actually using cash when you shop rather than a card or a check?
I have found that I spend less when I know I will be counting out actual money instead of giving a card or check to the cashier. It somehow makes things more real and you less likely to buy things on impulse.
Other tips include:
- Figure
how much money you are going to spend before going to the store.
- Shopping lists help you shorten your time in the store; statistics
show that the longer time you spend in the grocery store, the more you will
spend.
- Shop with a calculator to help you stay within your budget.
- Check prices
carefully at the cash register to avoid being overcharged. You will be amazed how often this happens. It's your money so taking a few seconds to check the receipt is worth it
And if you want even more tips on how to save money on the foods that help you lose weight like fruits and vegetables, lean protein, and whole grains then be sure today to pick up your copy of MoneyWise Weight Loss. It's a wise investment in these tough times.
Oh and one more thing...I recommend checking out the videos at http://www.howbigisyourproblem.com because they can really help you to keep your problems in perspective. I hope they brighten your day.
Enjoy!
Be blessed in health, wealth, and wisdom,
Kim
