Liberty is such a sweet word! I picture the saints of God worshipping Him freely, hearts overjoyed, raising their hands to the sky.
But many people can't live in liberty because they are still in bondage to mental and behavioral strongholds. But praise God, He sent Jesus to set us free!
Meditation
When I suffered from overeating and binge eating, I once counted the number of times each day I thought about food: 77 times.
If I wasn’t thinking about what I was eating, I was thinking about what I had eaten, or what I was going to eat next.
If the enemy is oppressing you right now, then I have great news for you. It was for you that Jesus came to this Earth:
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord (Luke 4:18-19).”
Jesus is the source of our “liberty.” His desire is that you live in freedom in Him!
Here is the good news of the Gospel and the liberty that it brings:
- Are you poor in spirit? The kingdom of heaven is yours.
- Are you brokenhearted? Let Jesus heal you.
- Does sin have you bound? Let Jesus free you.
- Are you Spiritually blind? Let Jesus open your eyes.
- Are you oppressed? Walk through the door to freedom that Jesus opens for you.
Walking with the Lord is a daily process. Challenges to your liberty may come, but you will win with Jesus's help.
Remember, Jesus already won the war. Claim your share of freedom in Him!
