Where's the diet?

One of the most common questions I receive about the Take Back Your Temple program is:

"Where is the diet?"

To put my answer in context, I think it's important that I answer a second question first.

That second question comes from a Take Back Your Temple program member, Mitzi. Mitzi sent me a personal email the other day to ask:

"What was the biggest thing that helped you when you struggled the most?"

I smiled. It certainly was NOT a diet!

After all, I had been on and off diets for over 20 years. I would lose weight, but then gain it all back.

My success in slimming down from a size 22 to a size 8 finally came when I realized one fact:

As long as my mind remained the same, my body would not change.

This agrees with a Biblical principle from Romans 12:2:

"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."

I was using brain-hijacking foods to comfort myself from the pain of the past and to escape my fear of the future.

As long as those counterfeit foods were in the way, I was settling for a counterfeit life.

If I wanted to experience real life, I needed life-giving foods for emotional stability, for nourishment, and for energy to fulfill my purpose in the Lord.

Renewing my mind helped me learned how to deepen my relationship with God in order to find comfort from past pain and courage to face the future.

Now, let's get back to the original question regarding the Take Back Your Temple program:

"Where's the diet?"

My answer is, there is no diet in the traditional sense.

The diet mentality says, "I will eat this way long enough to lose weight and once I lose weight, then I will go back to eating my 'normal' way."

And of course when the person goes back to their old, normal way, the old weight comes back!

But the Take Back Your Temple program strives to help you discover a new normal.

You will discover how to build an eating pattern that you enjoy and also helps you reach and maintain a healthy weight.

It's the best of all worlds!

However, getting anchored in your relationship with God and renewing your mind is the unique foundation upon which the program rests.

I hope that answered the question. If you have any other questions about the TBYT program, just ask.

I am just an email away!
