...then you are in a good place! Stay with me.
The definition of struggle is "a forceful or violent effort to get free of restraint or resist attack."
You struggled to learn how to do it. You resisted the impulse to give up when you wobbled. You might have even fallen down a few times.
But you stayed with it until you could ride!
In your weight loss journey, you are struggling to get free of old thoughts and behaviors that may have left you overweight or unhealthy.
But the enemy wants to keep you in bondage with negative
thoughts and destructive habits.
Jesus said that the enemy's plan is always to steal your joy, destroy your health, and take your life (see John 10:10).
But when you learn new, daily behaviors to live as a fit, healthy
person - Spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically - then you resist the enemy.
James 4:7 promises: "Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you."
You submit to God -> You resist the devil -> The devil must flee.
So the daily struggle is in the submission and the resistance so the enemy flees. I know it well after my own successful transformation journey!
I understand that it is a challenge. But the point is to stay in the game. Resist the impulse to give up.
Unfortunately, some people tell themselves "I am struggling" when the
truth is that they are not struggling at all...they are just giving in.
No submission, no resistance, no attempt to do something different in how they live their daily
lives.
Because of this, the enemy keeps
them in bondage.
They feel frustrated, going around in circles but not getting anywhere.
It is not supposed to be this way.
Because Jesus died for our liberty, it is wrong for God's people to live in bondage.
In case you missed it, here is an article I posted on TBYT earlier this week about a new way to view struggle and how it can help in your weight loss journey.
I'm interested in your thoughts too, so
