Prayer for a Breakthrough

Published: Fri, 04/17/15

When life throws yet one more problem at you, do you ever feel like telling the Lord, "Give me a break!" If so, this prayer is for you.

My husband Mike wrote this prayer. It blessed me a lot. Adapt it for your own prayer time and then get ready for the breakthrough the Lord is sure to send your way!

Dear Lord,

We come before you a humble people because we recognize your awesome power and loving nature.

We are asking for you to continue to bear us up and help us to glorify You in our natural body so that others may come to recognize how magnificent You are.  Help us to not sin against You and most certainly we ask that You forgive us of our sins.

We have read in Genesis 32 where Jacob wrestled with the Angel of the Lord for a blessing and protection as he believed his brother was hot on his heel and wanted to kill him.

You knew he could not prevent You from leaving but it appeared as though You wanted to see if he really wanted You and the blessing. So you touched the hollow of his thigh and knocked it out of joint since Jacob was so persistent.

In other words Father, You gave Jacob a "BREAK"!  We are persistent and we are asking for a break from You Father.  We know that we shall heal stronger from your break.

We are asking for a break from our labor but for a moment just so that we can exhale.  We are asking for a break-through concerning our obstacles.

We ask for a "Brake" for our loved ones to help them "STOP" the downward spiral.  To aid them in stopping the train wreck for which they may be headed.

Help and strengthen us to be the "Brakeman" in our family and at our jobs.  We need a break Father, yes we need a brake.

You know what type of break/brake we need.

  • Break-up (the evil plans the enemy have for us)
  • Break-out (of our slump and funk)
  • Break-down (from pride)
  • Break-through (barriers)
  • Break-away (from our problems)
  • Break-in to praise unto you O'Lord
  • Brake hard long enough to see your salvation.

And when it is all said and done we shall Break-Dance unto Your goodness, for You are Good all the time and all the time You are good!

We do trust and love you Father!

~Amen~
