In my own weight loss journey, one of the problems I dealt with was feeling powerless to overcome the negative health habits I'd built over 20 years. 

The following is a prayer I wrote to help myself in this area. I pray it encourages you as well. This prayer is included in my popular book, The Weight Loss Prayers: 30 Daily Prayers for Weight Loss Motivation.

Today's Prayer

Lord, Your Word says that the same power that raised Christ from the dead lives in me because Jesus is my Savior. Remind me to use the power that I have to make healthy decisions that glorify You. You set before me life and death, blessing and cursing. You pleaded with Your people to choose life, therefore I choose life and blessing according to Your will.

Thank you for the empowerment of the Holy Spirit to live a life that pleases You. Help me to have ears to hear the Holy Spirit's direction. Help me to feed my Spirit above my flesh. I recognize that when I am faithful with the small decisions of life, You trust me with much more.

Your strength is made perfect in my weakness. Perfect me in Your love, Lord! I embrace this challenge, knowing that the more I cling to You, the more I reflect Your glorious nature. Amen.
