What do you have to PROVE?

Published: Thu, 03/13/14

Isn't it amazing how you can read a scripture countless times, but suddenly fixate on one word that never caught your attention before? That happened to me while meditating on this scripture:

"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God (Romans 12:2)."

Normally, I see this scripture as hope that change is possible. Many people don't believe they can change, but this scripture shows that belief is a lie. But the word that caught my attention during my study this morning is the word "PROVE."

Did you know that as a Believer in Christ, you have something to prove? Prove means that you demonstrate truth by evidence. So according to this scripture, every time you apply the Word of God, you prove to yourself and others that God's will is good, and acceptable, and perfect.

I don't know about you, but I want to see God's word done in my life every day because I want His good, acceptable, and perfect results in my life!

If you are in bondage to any habit, could it be because you are daily proving beliefs that are not good, acceptable, or God's perfect will for you? God loves you and He desires that you prosper and be in health as your soul prospers (see 3 John 1:2)!

That is a good word to start proving in your life. What does soul prosperity look like to you? Your soul is your mind, will, and emotions. Ask yourself:

  • What can I learn to prosper my mind today?
  • What can I direct my will towards today to yield profitable results?
  • What choices can I make today that will lead to God's peace and joy in my emotions?

If there is any aspect of your life that isn't working, then I'd recommend finding a Word from the Lord in that situation and start renewing your mind on it through meditating and applying it.

Ask God for wisdom each day so that you may prove the truth of that word in your life.

I'd like your thoughts: What scriptures are you actively using to renew your mind so that you can see God's good, acceptable, and perfect will done in that area?

I'd love to compile a Top 10 list and share the results at the beginning of next week.

Be blessed in Health, Healing, and Wholeness,
