Who's controlling YOUR Mood?

Published: Fri, 03/21/14

I received a reader email that made me go "Wow." Believe it or not, this insight is about chocolate! God is definitely revealing truths to His people in even greater measure than before.

See if this message strikes a chord with you too:

Dear Sister in Christ,

I am not yet an Overcomer when it comes to emotional eating and compulsive eating. But I am gaining a deeper insight into this stronghold after 30+ years of praying, crying, and begging God for victory over a chocolate chip cookie!

At 3:20 the morning of 17 January 2014, the Holy Spirit woke me up with 'What's the meaning of Cadbury?" O my word Girl, with Google at hand, I got to the following:

"Known as the biggest outselling chocolate product, John Cadbury started his career as a chocolatier in 1824 in London. The Heirs to the company reshaped the existence of Cadbury chocolate in 1913 by adding higher proportions to the wafer, topping it with carefully layered hot chocolate syrup...a large number of consumers began to have it as their mood-cheering supplement...."

At that time, nothing made sense. Last week I re-read my message, and faithful as God is, the revelation came: MOOD CHEERING SUPPLEMENT.

Girl, do you get it? I had to repent for trusting Cadbury to make it better to help me cope with situations instead of trusting God.

Glory to our King, for in Him I place my trust that I may be set free before I turn 50!

Trust somebody out there needs to read this.

I told Dorinda that I would share it because I KNOW somebody out there needs to read this.

So my question is - who is controlling your mood today? Is it Cadbury, the voice of the enemy, coworkers, friends, family, or the Word of God? Something to think about!

Be blessed in Health, Healing, and Wholeness,

P.S. If you need a practical way to overcome negative self talk, then I encourage you to check out my book Encourage Me: 30 Days to Positive Self Talk. One reviewer wrote: "I confess I raced through this book in far fewer than 30 days, because I couldn't wait to read the next chapter. Each day's entry was positive, uplifting and practical. I look forward to going through it more slowly and meditating on each chapter in depth. Each chapter has some amazing artwork, too."
