7 Scriptures to PROVE in your Life

Published: Wed, 03/19/14

I asked TBYT readers the top scriptures they've proven recently. The 7 scriptures are below. Every time you apply God's word, you prove that God's will is good, and acceptable, and perfect according to Romans 12:2.

Thuli, one of the students in my How to Stop Binge Eating course, responded that she proves Psalm 139:14 in this way:

"Each time I look in the mirror or start to feel depression/pity party kicking in because of my self-image (which normally leads to binge eating and feeling helpless) I quickly bring that scripture to mind to appreciate myself because God loves me regardless. The scripture helps me to love myself and know that I am equipped to prosper in health and well-being. I don't have to binge eat. God knows all about me."

I applaud Thuli and the other readers who took time to help others. I hope that many other TBYT readers are actively proving God's word too.

If you need some suggested scriptures to start proving, then the list below is a good place to start (in no particular order):

1. "I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well (Psalm 139:14 NKJV)."

    - Thuli

2. "I am the vine. You are the branches. If anyone remains joined to me, and I to him, he will bear a lot of fruit. You can't do anything without me (John 15:5 NIRV).

    - Peggy K.

3. "Watch for the new thing I am going to do. It is happening already-you can see it now (Isaiah 43:19 GNT)

4. "Well, whatever you do, whether you eat or drink, do it all for God's glory (1 Corinthians 10:31 GNT).

    - Felicia J. (she contributed #3 and #4 and says she uses #3 as a confession when she looks in the mirror)

5. Let your character or moral disposition be free from love of money [including greed, avarice, lust, and craving for earthly possessions] and be satisfied with your present [circumstances and with what you have]; for He Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!]

So we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently and boldly say, The Lord is my Helper; I will not be seized with alarm [I will not fear or dread or be terrified]. What can man do to me (Hebrews 13:5-6 AMP)?

    - Marla K.

6. "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV)."

    - Gloria W.

7. "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4: 6,7 NKJV)."

    - Cynthia
