The Lord is Blessing You Right Now

Published: Fri, 12/13/13

Yesterday, I woke up with a scripture on my mind: "When you have eaten and are full, then you shall bless the Lord your God for the good land which He has given you (Deuteronomy 8:10)."

When God bless us, it means He empowers, strengthens, and helps us. But what does it mean to bless God?

After searching for the answer in commentaries, I gained a new perspective by pastor and author John Piper: "Since God is the primal and inexhaustible 'Blesser,' then He must be above all others in a "Blessed" state - the fullness and source of all "blessing."

I already knew that all blessings come from God, but never made the connection that in order to bless us, God Himself must be in a Blessed state! After all, you can't give what you don't have.

When you bless God, you:

  • Realize that because God never leaves you, nor forsakes you then blessing is with you wherever you go

  • Acknowledge God's blessed state in gratitude - His grace, beauty, power, and strength

  • Bless others because in doing so you reveal God's blessing nature to them

Wow, it made me happy to realize that I serve a Blessed God! All day yesterday, I just imagined being surrounded by a cloud of blessing.

Say this out loud: "For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as with a shield (Psalm 5:12)."

Another thing that made me realize I serve a Blessed God is to recall the 10 years since I made the decision to take back my health. I rediscovered a clip of my interview with CBN's The 700 Club about my weight loss success story.

Here is the link to the clip. I know it will bless you to see it:

The interview was done 5 years ago and you'll see that I was still single and called by my maiden name. Click below and watch the clip now:

No matter what the facts of your life look like and how you feel, here is the truth: If you are in Christ Jesus, you are blessed with every Spiritual blessing already (Ephesians 1:3).

I pray that you always have eyes to see the blessings right in front of you, ears to hear God's voice when He speaks to you, and a heart to obey His Word.

I pray the same for myself and would appreciate your prayers for me.

God bless you and thank you for sharing this journey with me to Take Back Your Temple!
