You can't put a price on someone who is committed to you in good times and bad, even at great personal cost. A faithful friend doesn't stick with you just out of obligation, but out of love.

God proved His love for you at great personal cost; He sent His only Son to die for your sins and to redeem you.

Today's word to describe God is "Faithful."

 

Devotion

 

God has proven Himself faithful to me in many ways, but the most vivid example started in 2008. Back then, I had a good job and had just published my second book. I was striving to publicize that book, calling radio stations to set up interviews on my breaks and lunch hour.

 

It was exhausting to try to fulfill the obligations of that job plus do the work I felt God was calling me to do. I felt like I was split in two. One day, I clearly heard God tell me to let my job go.

 

Needless to say, I resisted that instruction. What would I do for an income? I was single at the time so I had no other income resource. However, the prompting to quit got stronger and stronger; the grace to do the job departed and it became draining. Finally, I decided to obey God and quit the job.

 

Fear threatened to engulf me. The book barely generated enough income monthly to pay a small bill, never mind the larger ones like mortgage and car payment.  During that period, I did what I could to lower my bills, but no income was forthcoming. It was an uncertain time and I had to depend on God like never before.

 

However, one day I received a phone call. It was from a manager at the job I left. Even though he hadn't been my direct manager, he was familiar with my work. He was working on a project with a contracting company and asked me if I would serve as a consultant for his client. I agreed.  An income resource at last!

 

The project allowed me to work from home and as long as I met the deadlines, I didn't have to adhere to a specific schedule.  I could still generate an income, plus I had the flexibility to do everything I needed to do with takebackyourtemple.com, my true passion.

 

Have the last few years been without trials? Absolutely not! I've had feast times and famine times. But God has always been faithful. He has provided answers when I needed Him. He has provided resources. He has provided people with knowledge and skills to help me at just the right time.

 

Through this experience, I learned that a job may be a resource but God is my Source! He has provided courage when I was afraid and comfort during times of disappointment.

 

God has shown me time and time again that His plans for me are better than the plans I have for myself. With each passing day, He comes through for me in new and surprising ways. My faith has become a great adventure, sharing it with the most faithful Friend anyone could ever have!

·         1 Corinthians 1:9 God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

 

·         1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

 

·         2 Thessalonians 3:3 But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.

 

·         2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
